Oval-hole mandolins : Maple model

European or Sitka spruce, carved top
European maple back & sides - carved back

This model features both carved top and back, giving it a brighter
and more 'woody' tone .
The top and back plates are entirely hand carved and graduated
to produce a resonant and responsive instrument.

19 fret Ebony fingerboard
mother of pearl position markers (5,7,10,12,15 and 17th frets)
black postion markers on fingerboard edge.

Cream coloured binding to front edge and fingerboard.

Dark sunburst gloss lacquer finish with dark brown top:
I use a combination of hand-rubbed stain and sprayed
on tinted lacquer, to give the instrument a vintage look.

Blond Maple model

European spruce, hand- carved top
European Maple , hand-carved back

As with my other maple mandolins the blond model has a bright tone and is well balanced across the strings, with plenty of volume.

Satin lacquer and wax finish
Birds' eye Maple fingerboard (bound) with 12" radius (flat fingerbord is optional)

Oval-hole mandolins : Rosewood model

European spruce, hand- carved top
Indian rosewood back & sides (flat back)

This model has a richer, fuller bass than is usually associated with the Mandolin.
Indian Rosewood, in addition to its visual beauty, gives the
instrument a warm and resonant tone.
I select high quality European spruce for the top, which I hand carve and graduate.

Available with either natural and black- top finish: I finish these instruments with a high gloss lacquer. Rubbing down the finish by hand between coats to achieve a perfectly flat, but also thin layer of lacquer.

How to order/buy	Delivery
Contact me by email or telephone to confirm the availability of the specific model. To secure your order, a 20% deposit is required, with the full balance to be paid 10 days before the instrument is despatched. Payment can be made by cheque, money transfer through bank account or by International Money Order (IMO) in pounds Sterling.	Delivery cost is £20 (including insurance) to UK mainland customers. For Delivery outside the UK, please send me an email for a quote.
