Somerset, England.

I specialise in building carved-top instruments
of the Mandolin family; working on a small
group of instruments at a time, I can maintain
a consistently high standard of craftsmanship.

I started builing instruments 25 years ago - at first, self-taught, then going on to study Musical
Instrument Technology at the London College of Furniture (now the Guildhall University).

It was while I was a student that I started to play the Mandolin and I decided to make instruments of the Mandolin family.

I went on to set up a workshop in Hackney, East London with luthier Brian Lofthouse, before moving back to the south west of England, where I shared a number of workshops with the late Rod Button, who was a great luthier , friend and continued inspiration.
